FAMILIES WE'VE HELPED
|
We were told of a couple who had twin
boys born 9 weeks premature. The babies spent 9 weeks
at Sacred Heart Children's Hospital and the parents
stayed at the Ronald McDonald House. We were able to
pay the bill at the Ronald McDonald house, a Wal-Mart
gift card to help with needed baby items, and a gift
basket with a specialized monitor, pajamas, photo book,
and other baby items. We also provided them with a
certificate for 3 delicious homemade meals a week for 1
month.
Thank you from the bottom of our
hearts for your generous act of kindness. We will never
forget your kindness and we will return it to others in
need over the years, just as Jackson would have done.
A family was referred to us with a
child suffering from PVNS. The single mother of 3 was
traveling to Seattle for treatment for her son. The
travel expenses became too much so she made the decision
to move her family to the Seattle area to be closer to
medical care for her son. Through amazing friends we
were able to help her find a place and pay the first 5
months rent for her so that she could concentrate on
getting her family settled.
We heard of a young girl who had a
type of debilitating arthritis. We were able to provide
financial assistance for travel to the doctor
appointments in Seattle as well as some hand-held games
to help pass the time while traveling.
We were informed of a little boy with
cystic fibrosis around Christmas time. We were able to
proved the family with a donation of cash to help with
medical expenses, an early Christmas gift basket for the
little guy and his sister as well as family photos from
Ridingers. This little boy was also selected to "flip
the switch" at Locomotive Park to begin the holiday
season.
A family with a little guy that was
undergoing his next heart surgery in Boston received a
laptop computer from the foundation. This enabled the
mother to continue to work while in Boston for 3 months.
We are very grateful to the
foundation for your strength and courage to continue on
and help other families during difficult times to help
ease the stress so we can put all our efforts towards
our sick kiddos!
We provided immediate financial
assistance to a family with a 5 year old suffering from
a severe case of swine flu and pneumonia.
We were notified of a couple who had
just given birth to a beautiful baby boy. He was born
premature and with a variety of health issues as well as
having Down Syndrome. We were able to provide financial
assistance, wonderful family photos from Ridingers and a
room full of diapers!
I can't begin to express what your
generous gift means to me and my family. This time has
been extremely difficult for us but knowing we have the
support of people like you certainly helps.
We met a young boy with Cerebral
Palsy and were able to help with travel, hotel, and
various expenses for him and his mother to travel to a
two week, intensive physical therapy program. It is a
wonderful program that focuses on strengthening,
stretching, massage, gait training, and balance
training.
I am so grateful for the
extraordinary assistance we received from your
foundation. |

We provided financial assistance for a family with a 10 month old born with
a very rare metabolical disorder. The treatment for the boy is in
Seattle. We also provided air travel for the family. We are
hoping that they can make it back home so that we can send the family to
Ridingers for some family pictures. The treatment is not a cure for
this disorder and with great sadness we were informed that the little guy
won't survive.
We provided financial assistance, a toy gift basket and a web-cam for a
family whose little boy is undergoing his third open heart surgery in
Boston. The web-cam will allow the parents to see their other 2
children at home while they are separated.
We provided financial assistance to a family with an adopted child suffering
from mental, emotional and physical problems. The money helped with
travel to their many doctors in Spokane.
We purchased a laptop computer, fuel cards, VISA gift cards and a game
basket for a 13 year old girl suffering from terminal cancer. The
laptop will help her have some entertainment in the hospital as well as stay
in touch with her friends.
We have provided airfare for a family traveling to the Mayo Clinic for
multiple surgeries for their daughter born with a severe tumor on her face.
We helped finance a home remodel to help the parents of a severely,
physically disabled child. The remodel allowed the child to stay in
the home.
We assisted with the financing for a family's trip back east for surgery for
their son. He was born with cerebral palsy. The surgery was
successful and the child is now walking.
We purchased a laptop computer for a 13 year old boy fighting a brain tumor.
The computer helped him to keep up with his school work, keep in contact
with friends and entertain himself with movies and music while in the
hospital.
We met a family with a 10 year old son who was born with a condition called Hypoplastic Left
Heart Syndrome or
HLHS. We wanted to make Christmas extra special for this family as it could
be their son's last holiday. We purchased them fuel cards and VISA
gift cards to help with daily expenses. We arranged for the Lewiston Fire Department to pick up
the boys and they
were brought to the Fire Station. Once there the family enjoyed a delicious
meal prepared for
them by the firefighters! After having fun
with a tour of the station, the
firefighters took the boys Christmas shopping for their parents with
money provided by the foundation.
On November 14th the family headed to Spokane for a minor surgery for their
son.
While they were
away, we went to work decorating their home for the holidays. We enlisted
the help of a local
florist to make it extra special.
We were able to help a family whose baby girl had been born
premature. The family was having to stay in Spokane until the baby was
strong enough to come home. We helped with gift card to Walmart for the
babies needs. We also paid money toward their cell phone bill. We know from
experience that a cell phone is valuable in keeping in touch with your loved
ones at home.
We were notified of a family that had recently been told
their 2 year old son has a terminal genetic condition known as MLD. The
child loves animals and the ocean. The foundation was able to send the
parents, their two children, both sets of grandparents and an uncle to the
coast for a week. The foundation provided transportation to the coast, a
rental house on the beach, tickets to the Tacoma Zoo and lodging in Tacoma
and some spending cash. We also worked with Ridinger's, the Art of
Photography to get family pictures taken. Mike and Jessica Ridinger are
amazing people who have been blessed with a very special gift that they are
willing to share. The family will have picture's of their little guy to last
a lifetime. It was a pleasure working with this family. They will continue
to be in our prayers during this difficult time.
We were informed of a family with an infant who had many health
issues. The family was in need of assistance. The Foundation paid the
family's rent, relieving some of the stress the mother was facing.
We heard of a little boy suffering from a terminal tumor. We
were hoping the family could use our donation to do something fun to make a
life-long memory. Sadly their precious child passed away shortly after
receiving our assistance. At the first Jackson's Pay It Forward Foundation
auction the family donated a gun package in their son's name. The package
raised a lot of money for the Foundation. What a great example of paying it
forward! |
